Fav App of the Year: Resupply

Anyone else have a “designated donate pile” in their room? You know…. the collection of old college t-shirts, cross-body Coach purses and ex boyfriend junk you don’t necessarily want to throw away (it’s nice sh*t) but never seem to have the time to actually donate? I don’t know about you, but my DDP has been slowly starting to take over the back corner of my closet for so long it’s actually embarrassing. Which leads me to my fav app of 2017… Resupply. (#GivingMadeSimple)

In a nutshell, this app takes all of the hassle (someone had to say it) out of charitable giving aka getting rid of the DDP in the back of your closet… And the old couch in your basement…. And the bike you never ride in the garage…. You get the picture. Simply log in, select a local charity, take pics of your stuff, and schedule your pick up – boom! Donezo.

    The perks:

    – THEY LITERALLY COME TO YOUR HOUSE WHENEVER YOU WANT AND PICK UP YOUR STUFF – BIG OR SMALL! Sorry not sorry for throwing you on caps – had to make sure you didn’t miss that. Think the convenience of Uber Eats with the same do-good, feel-good feeling of donating to some of your fav organizations. I scheduled my pick up for while I worked from home last Friday and it was amazing – any time I can avoid traffic and still be productive, you know I will. I chose to donate to Atlanta Step Up Society benefiting Veterans’ homelessness.

    – They send you a DIGITAL TAX CREDIT! It’s 2017 – so they’ve ditched the good ol’ paper slip and adopted a digital version that is stored right on the app. Having one less thing to keep track of before Tax Day? Yas please.

    – It’s FREE! Yep, the app is new so it’s totally free… for now and the foreseeable future, anyway. No catch, just an app focused on serving the community. Refreshing, huh?

    The cons:

    – Figuring out what t-shirts you’re actually willing to part with….. maybe that’s just me.

This (of course) turned into a major stroll down memory lane…. a pretty basic task that probably should have taken 20 minutes wound up taking over an hour… but no ragrets. Some of those t-shirts have seen some crazy things – I had to bid them a proper farewell. (GO DAWGS!)

2018 is around the corner – start the new year by de-cluttering your life and doing something good for someone else. I challenge you to pack up your personal DDP, download the Resupply app, and get it over with! You’ve been putting it off and now you have absolutely no excuse. Two of my resolutions for 2018 are to stay more on top of things and to do more to help others. Shout out to Resupply for helping me kill two birds with one stone already! What are some of your resolutions for 2018?

    xoxo, Anna Kate
