Everyone loves brunch.
Right? Usually I wouldn’t just generalize everyone… but what’s not to love? Recapping the dirty deets from the night before while nursing your hangover with runny yolks and bottomless bubbles? Call me a millennial, but it just doesn’t get much better than that.
One of my favorite places to eat in the entire city is Barcelona Inman Park, so when I was in the area for a wine tasting at Vintoeca and learned they served brunch, I pretty much ran (in heels) across the street to try it for the first time.

We sat outside because the weather was gorgeous… and we all had new sunglasses to show off. We ordered champagne as soon as we sat down and beelined for the custom mimosa bar. You have a choice of juice, fresh fruit, herbs, syrups, and shrubs to mix in – so if you have trouble with decision making, this might not be the mimosa bar for you. I hit a home run with a peach juice, raspberry, and mint combination I stuck with all morning.
What happened next was a blur and not just because of the mimosas. Let’s just say we ate a feast for ten men… and there were three of us.
The fried chicken and churros is definitely one of the most unique brunch creations I’ve ever tried. An unexpected twist on a southern classic- these were sticky, sinful and soooo damn good!
You wouldn’t typically expect to see shrimp and grits on a Spanish/Mediterranean menu, but Barcelona is far from typical…. and WOW. The shrimp were plump, the grits were creamy and the flavors were perfectly balanced. I did not want to share…. but obviously felt peer pressured, and everyone else loved them too.
All of our eggs were cooked perfectly, whether they were a part of the benedict or on top of the hash and the service was the best of the best, as always.
If you really care about the quality of your experience as far as service, food/wine, and atmosphere- Barcelona Inman Park is it. I could (and willingly would) eat here for any/all meals of the day.
